| What is Structural Geology? An understanding of
structural controls on mineralisation is of great importance in the search for mineral
deposits of all kinds. AGARSS has a long track record in structural and tectonic studies
both in a regional sense and in detail at prospect scales. Bob Agar is well known for his
work on the structural and tectonic evolution of the Saudi Arabian Shield on which subject
he has published a number of important technical papers.
Examples of work AGARSS has been involved in
Plafker, G., Agar, R.A., Askar, A.H., and Hanif, M.R., 1983. Surface effects and
tectonics of the 13th December 1982 Yemen earthquake.
Agar, R.A..1986. The Bani Ghayy group; sedimentation and volcanism in pull-apart
grabens of the Najd strike-slip orogen. Precambrian Research, V31, pp259-274.
Agar, R.A. 1986. The Najd fault system revisited; a two-way strike-slip orogen in the
Saudi Arabian Shield. Journal of Structural Geology, V.9, pp411-48.

styles, modes and levels of emplacement. Journal of African Earth Sciences, V.4,
