PREPROCESSED LANDSAT TM
DATA NOW AVAILABLE
Clay - Iron - Vegetation indices and lithological discriminators.
 |
The image at left is a standard Landsat TM 741 algorithm used to highlight
lithology and commonly supplied by many data providers as a standard hardcopy product. The
image displayed below covers the same area and is a lithological discriminator algorithm
produced by AGARSS. Comparison of the two images reveals a considerable level of detail in
the image below which is not present in the standard 741 image. Furthermore, RGB
combination images of 3 different indices (clay, iron oxide and vegetation) provide
excellent mineralogical starting points for regolith and geological interpretations.
Collectively, these various pre-processed images enable production of a far more detailed
interpretative maps, allowing greater sub-division of lithological units and a much
clearer understanding of the regolith regime which is of vital importance in designing and
interpreting geochemical sampling programmes. |
AGARSS supply such Landsat TM products at very competitive rates. The
digital data files are written to CD ROM in formats compatible with popular image
processing and GIS packages, while the scaled hard copy image maps are all of poster
quality. The pricing structure allows a choice between processed or standard products in
digital and/or hardcopy format at a range of different scales. For a standard 1:100 000
map sheet area, the following prices apply:-
